 Otoliths are the inner ear bones of fish that aid in deep sea navigation. I produced this series of pen and acrylic ink drawings and frottage (rubbings) using artist’s crayons in response to my research at NES Artist Residency, Skagastrond, Iceland.

I produced this series of pen and acrylic ink drawings and frottage (rubbings) using artist’s crayons in response to my research at NES Artist Residency, Skagastrond, Iceland. I made the rubbings from my original paper cuts. The otoliths pictured belong to the lumpfish, Cyclopterus lumpus.
