Teaching Philosophy: Ingrid Erickson

Visual art is a powerful tool for communication and self-expression. It is a catalyst for change at both individual and societal levels.  Art teaches perseverance, flexibility, and creative problem-solving.

I believe that art is for everyone:  Learning to engage in the creative process develops critical thinking, spatial reasoning, self-discovery, and joy in life-long learning.

I believe in individually-tailored instruction to accommodate different learning styles.  I challenge my students to hone their skills, and guide them in the discovery of their own individual artistic voices.
