Ingrid Erickson: Artist Bio

NC-based artist, Ingrid Erickson, has lived and worked in China, Thailand, Iceland, and Finland. Erickson’s installations reflect the intersection of art and science. Her work is about the fragility of ecosystems. She is interested in everything in the natural world from ice to entomology. Erickson frequently collaborates with scientists and natural history museums. Community partners have included The Duke Lemur Center, the Field Museum, Chicago, and Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, Laurel, MD.

Artist residencies include Jentel (Sheridan, WY), The Sitka Center for Art & Ecology (Otis, OR), Fiskars AIR (Rasepoori, Finland), Nes Artist Residency (Skagastrond, Iceland), Surel’s Place (Boise, Idaho), Hog Island Audubon Residency (Bremen, ME), and Penland School of Crafts. Erickson holds Studio Art/Art History degrees from Middlebury College in Vermont.
